It seems like we are doing a LOT of house painting in Midland right now. The job we are currently working on has us painting on some old 70's wood paneling. The client didn't want to tear it all down and put up drywall, that just wasn't in their budget right now. So, we've lightened up the walls with some interior paint, after applying some primer, and the living spaces look amazing.
We painted the ceilings, which are all tiled and had discoloured. The living room got painted, including the trim around the windows. The room feels so much bigger now! The entrance way and long but thin hallway to the bedrooms also got it's dark wood paneling painted, and the front closet door changed out. It feels like a grand entrance way now. We also installed trim along the floor, and it's given all the rooms an amazing update. Currently we are working on the small dining room in this home. I can't wait to see how bright it is and how big it feels when the sun shines in. We helped the client choose complimentary colours for the wall, trim and made sure they got the correct kind of paint for rolling on the ceiling. We helped them find the best deal on a quality paint, too. That goes beyond what a normal house painter would do, but this customer needed the extra help, and we were happy to make sure they got what they needed and were happy with their paint colour choices. The most challenging part of any paint job is making sure every thing is taped off correctly, and that care is taken when doing the details - around doors, painting the window frames and door frames, making sure everything is covered by a drop cloth... however, working in the heat that we've had in the Midland area this week has been an extra challenge. When this job is wrapped up, We've got a few small jobs on the books. We are taking new jobs and giving quotes for jobs starting at the third week of July. Midland Ontario Handy Man is available for your small jobs! We're happy to help with shelving projects, and to help your pinterest ideas come to life, like this small space gardening wall! Sometimes the honey-do list is just impossible to get to for busy families. We can help you get that annoying cupboard door put on right, hang your new curtains or blinds properly, build you the perfect footstool! This little set of stairs was built for an old kitty to be able to get up on the clients bed. (The bed was just a little taller than a regular bed, and the kitty just couldn't make the jump.) We measured the height of the bed, and made the stairs a little shorter than a standard step so the cat could make the climb up to snuggle with her favourite person. Little things like this mean so much! We made a sturdy step that made a world of difference for both the client and the kitty! If your small job is part of an art or craft job from pinterest that you want to try, but you just don't know where to start with the wood working part or drilling part, we can help you with that too.
Midland Ontario Handyman can help you with your honey do lists or small home renovation projects in Midland, Penetanguishene, Port McNicoll, and the area. This was a project that was custom measured for the clients garage. Utility Shelves that go all the way up! The intention for the shelves for this client was to put Rubbermaid Totes filled with their Christmas and other seasonal items on, and to maximize the space they had. Midland Ontario Handyman built some sturdy shelves to measure. Shelves that would fit two totes each, plus a taller shelf on the bottom to fit the Christmas Tree box, and other larger things. This part of the garage is to the side of where the cars were parked, and had to stay out of the way. The whole garage had a slight angle in the floor for drainage, that also had to be considered in the designing and building of these storage shelves. We've built utility or storage shelves like this for basements as well! A little off the ground, to fit several different basement heights, and to the specifications for the plastic bins or tools that would be stored on the wood shelves.
This is a practical and affordable option for storage! Contact us if you'd like a quote for shelves built in the Midland Ontario area. An SOS call for a kitchen back splash fix in Penetanguishene! Midland Handyman to the rescue! These back splash tiles were the SECOND application of tiles the client had tried. The first tiles peeled off, and these black, white and grey tiles were also peeling off the kitchen wall. The client didn't like the look of them, the tile falling off the wall was frustrating, and it was time for a change! After a consult or two with the client about what they wanted to see for their kitchen wall reno, our first step was to remove all of the peeling tiles from the kitchen wall. There was damage on the wall from the first application - The drywall paper had been previously lifted off and the new tiles applied directly on top of the ripped paper. Midland Handy Man got in there, fixed the drywall, removing the sticky adhesive and correcting the problem that the ripped drywall paper presented.
The client had chosen a bold and beautiful new paint colour for her kitchen walls. The surface was prepped, the cupboards all taped off, and when it was all ready, our handyman painted! Look at the stunning transformation of this kitchen! |
